Umut Güngör

Software Engineer & Systems Builder

I'm Umut Güngör. I build web applications and developer tools with TypeScript, React and Python. My open-source work includes the ChronoFlow daily planner, the CVera résumé–job matcher and Python command-line tools for software development workflows.

How I share my work: I document each project's problem, technical decisions and current limitations. The source links below let you inspect the implementation and setup instructions; the case studies explain why I chose the approach.

Open-source work

ChronoFlow

Open source project

A Turkish, local-first daily planner with drag-and-drop time blocking, goals and focus tracking.

What it delivers: The open-source MVP can run locally in browser-only mode without Supabase keys; the hosted demo currently requires sign-in.

CVera

Open source project

A privacy-first, deterministic matcher that compares a PDF/DOCX résumé with a software job description.

What it delivers: The open-source MVP returns an explainable compatibility preview and separate matched/missing skill lists. GitHub Actions checks lint, unit tests and production builds; scanned PDFs without text are not yet supported.

TokenGuard

Open source project

A zero-dependency pre-commit scanner for detecting API keys and credentials in staged Git changes.

What it delivers: Available on PyPI as tokenguard-cli. It scans staged changes, masks detected values in reports and supports pre-commit hooks and SARIF output. Pattern and entropy checks do not guarantee detection of every secret.

EnvDoctor

Open source project

A zero-dependency Python tool for checking .env files, synchronizing templates and finding undocumented environment variables in code.

What it delivers: Available on PyPI as envdoctor-cli. Its check, sync and audit commands compare configuration files, add masked placeholders to templates and search source code for environment-variable usage; JSON output supports automation.

DeadLinkFinder

Open source project

A zero-dependency Markdown integrity checker for local links, images, heading anchors and external URLs.

What it delivers: Available on PyPI as deadlinkfinder. It reports broken local Markdown links, missing images and heading anchors, with JSON or SARIF output. External URL checks require the optional network mode.
